The Cuban Missile Crisis

Thirteen days, 50 years ago. These were some of the most dangerous days in the history of our nation and the world.

For those around my age and older, you probably well recall those 13 days in October 1962 — the Cuban Missile Crisis. It is exactly 50 years ago that you read that as a nation we were in the grips of uncertainty and in many circles fear. We were literally, especially based on what we know now, on the brink of nuclear war. Some even referenced the time as a potential “Armageddon.”
