Former Northwestern State coach Lane Burroughs officially took over Louisiana Tech’s baseball program Wednesday at a press conference Wednesday at the Davision Athletics Complex, saying he won’t make major changes to a team that last month reached the NCAA Regionals for the first time in 29 years.
The 2016 Diamond ’Dogs were considered a group of overachievers, something that Burroughs called himself during the press conference.
Though services such as YouTube make it easier for teens to broadcast themselves, it’s not every day that a video made by a high-school student receives national attention and acclaim.
However, for New Tech @ Ruston junior Thristan Cecil, that’s exactly what has happened.
Thristan, who is a member of Ruston High School’s successful Future Business Leaders of America club, created a video about the dangers of texting and driving for a state FBLA competition. The video won first place at the state level before going on to win fifth place in the nation.
