Two Ruston Marines hope to see duty in Iraq
“I want to go where I can be most useful,” Caskey said. “The Marines don’t use women in combat, but if I was at the rear of a combat zone and we were attacked, I’ve been trained exactly like the men, so I can defend myself. If they need me in Iraq then that’s where I’d like to go.”
Peterson, 21, reports to the School of Infantry on Nov. 30, also at Camp Geiger. After graduation from infantry school, he plans to request a duty assignment that will lead him to Iraq.
