Guice, Hrncir make the cut
The field has been narrowed down to two semifinalists in the search for the next leader of Louisiana Tech University.
Tech’s own Les Guice, executive vice president and vice president for research and development, and Duance C. Hrncir, acting president of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, came through as the front runners in the search, which drew nine total applicants.
“The committee felt Dr. Guice and Dr. Hrncir had the strongest applications for this position with both demonstrating progressive campus leadership. The semifinalist interviews are a very important next step in this process as it gives the campus a chance to interact with the candidates and provide feedback to the committee,” Search Chair and University of Louisiana System Board Chair Wayne Parker said. “They both have extensive experience in higher education, both of them have held strong leadership positions and both have what we believe are outstanding performance records.”
