Art Innovations’ new show “Anatomy of a Home” opens from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. today.
The opening event features a sit-down home-cooked meal and live entertainment by MDM, “Mission Driven Movement.” Admission to the opening reception is $15 per person, with $5 of each ticket going to the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team.
“I’ve long believed in art as advocacy,” said Debra Faircloth, DART’s community advocate.
The Lincoln Parish Library was recognized at the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH) annual Awards Events held at Houmas House in Darrow on Saturday. The library received an award for hosting RELIC, the Adult Reading Program in Lincoln Parish and having sustained attendance at those RELIC programs.
Known as Readings in Literature and Culture (RELIC), the reading programs have been held in 63 of the 64 parishes in Louisiana since 1983. The scholar-led reading and discussion sessions have attracted a total audience of more than 101,000 in more than 116 different libraries across the state. RELIC has traditionally been funded by the State of Louisiana and administered in partnership with the Louisiana Library Association.
