Community Coordinating Council, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing educational experiences for senior citizens via seminars and educational travel is giving back to the community. A part of C.C.C.’s programmatic thrust is to give funds to organizations/individuals to help support and attain their educational goals. C.C.C. recently presented a check from the funds raised from their 2016 annual Senior Extravaganza to Lincoln Preparatory School in Grambling.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Gregory L. Jones recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
The North Central Louisiana Arts Council with 102 a Bistro will be featuring the work of international artist Hooshang Khorasani. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 7 for a show titled “Color Storm.”
Hooshang is an internationally exhibiting artist with working studios in both Ruston and Orange County, Calif. His work has been published in numerous art books including “Studio Visit,” “Masters of Today” and “The New Faces of Art.” His paintings are also displayed in private collections in England, Spain and Belgium, as well as throughout the United States.
