CHOUDRANT TOWN Council MINUTES VILLAGE OF CHOUDRANT November 5, 2012
The Village of Choudrant Town Council met in regular session. Present were Mayor Bill Sanderson, Alderman Ragan Aswell, Alderman Ricky Maier and guests. Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Mayor Sanderson. Mayor Sanderson gave prayer. Motion to approve the agenda was made by Alderman Aswell, seconded by Alderman Maier. Approved. Motion to approve the minutes of October 1, 2012, was made by Alderman Aswell, seconded by Alderman Maier. Approved.
Financial Report- Mayor Sanderson presented the financial report

Fire Report - 3 alarms
New Business -A letter from the Louisiana Secretary of State's office regarding John Croswell's resignation from the council was read by Mayor Sanderson. Village attorney, Andy Shealy, explained the process of replacing Mr. Croswell. A motion was made by Alderman Aswell, seconded by Alderman Maier to adopt a resolution appointing Brandon Williams to serve as Alderman until an election can be held, likely April of 2013. Mr. Williams will be sworn in at the next regular meeting. Approved.
Mayor Sanderson advised the council that the Choudrant Planning and Zoning Commission recommended a rezoning request for property located at 114 Aswell Street. Motion to introduce the ordinance to amend the zoning map of the Village and set a public hearing at the next regular council meeting was made by Alderman Aswell. Public hearing was set for 7 p.m. on December 3, 2012. The council was presented with a Utility Easement for their review. The issue was tabled until the December 3, 2012 meeting.
Old Business -
Mayor Sanderson updated the council on the Jones Street and the Pipes Road Wells.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Aswell and seconded by Alderman Maier. Approved. Adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
