Tech, GSU face midyear cuts
Earlier this month, Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration announced that public universities will be hit with a $22 million midyear budget cut.
These cuts came as part of a group of other cuts designed to close a $166 million state budget gap.
This is the fifth year in a row that the state has had to close midyear gaps, and public universities have been on the list every time.
The leaders of the two local universities say that the budget slashes continue to deeply affect the schools.
