Frances Ruth Henry Scray
Frances Ruth Henry Scray, a resident of Williston, VT, and former long-time resident of Ruston, LA, passed away on December 20th in Williston, VT.
Fran Scray was born August 16, 1926, in Arcadia, LA, to the late Louannie and Herman L. Henry, Sr. She was a teacher and a skilled seamstress, tailor, and knitter.
After graduation from Louisiana Tech University in 1947, she taught mathematics in Louisiana public high schools before teaching electronics and ground radar systems at Keesler AFB in Mississippi, where she met her future husband. In 1952 she was married to Eugene J. Scray Jr.
Fran Scray was predeceased in death by; her brother, Dallas Henry of Jonesboro, LA; sisters, Elizabeth Conley of Coushatta, LA, and Louise Walker of Jonesboro LA.
She is survived by; three brothers, H. L. Henry of St. Augustine, FL; Clay Henry of Fort Worth, TX; and James Hugh Henry of Devon, England. Her children are Eugene J. Scray of LeRoy, IL; Tammy Laskaris of Okemos, MI; and Anne Parkinson of Hinesburg, VT. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A gathering at the home of Eugene J. Scray Jr. will be held on Sunday December 30, 2012 at 2PM for sharing memories and giving condolences to the members of Fran's family. 212 Eastview Circle, Williston, Vermont 05495.
The celebration of her life and the distribution of her ashes in Louisiana and New Jersey will be held in the spring.
