Riggs: Stop madness of gun violence
The president took bold measures to help curb gun violence. We can show our support as citizens by letting our Congressmen know that we as a nation insist that this madness of gun violence must stop. Please write our Congressmen to let them know we are serious about protecting our children and nation from the senseless murders that are taking place daily. Nine hundred people have died from gun violence since the Sandy Hook tragedy; more than 80 of the 900 have been children. Below are a few measures Congress should take:
• Background checks must be made for all gun purchases.
