Phil Maton struck out eight batters and the Bulldogs’ pitching staff posted a complete game shutout as Louisiana Tech University took the first game of the series versus Nebraska, 5-0, Friday night at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston.

Tech exploded for four runs in the third inning after Taylor Terrasas ripped a ball down the left field line with the bases loaded to put the Bulldogs ahead 4-0 over the Cornhuskers.
