Writer says hold Sawgrass accountable
I am writing this letter in response to the July 28 article in the Ruston Daily Leader announcing the plans of Sawgrass Storage to put a high-pressure underground gas storage facility in north Lincoln and west Union parishes.
My family has owned land in the proposed storage area since the mid-1800s when my great-grandfather homesteaded it.
If Sawgrass is successful, it will expropriate our property and, by Court Order, impose an underground gas storage lease on us. This will include the right to construct pipelines and unlimited injection wells on our property — all without our consent.
