Funeral services were held for Shelby Jean Woodard, 73, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, Arcadia, on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Bruce Willson and Rob Perritt officiated. The interment followed at the Alabama Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Woodard was born September 8, 1936, in Hico, LA, to Charlie and Lula Napper Doss.

She entered into rest on August 28, 2010, in Arcadia, LA. Mrs. Woodard was a member of the Alabama Baptist Church in Arcadia. She worked for the Ruston State School as a house supervisor. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Woodard, daughter, Robin Stewart, grandchildren; Rana L. Morgan, Stevi M. Stewart and E. Scott Stewart, Jr., great-grandchildren; Amerie Claire Morgan, Kylee Jo Henry, Kayden R. Graham, Rhett Morgan and Carmyn Stewart, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 brother-in-laws, and 2 sister-in-law, and by a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be William Harvey Hanks, Scott Stewart, Matt Woodard, Claye Johnson, Tim Taylor, Rob Perritt, Hunter Morgan and Chris Graham.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff at Willow Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center and to Dr. Mark Haynes for the care of Mrs. Woodard.
