SACS spotlights schools’ work
Earlier this month, the Lincoln Parish School System received some good news. This news came in the form of a stamp of approval from the preliminary investigative team for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
SACS accreditation is a voluntary process through which schools and systems seek out quality control. The SACS committee helps school systems work toward improvement in certain areas they deem crucial to successful schools.
Lincoln Parish did more than meet the minimum standards required by SACS to receive accreditation — it actually received the highest possible marks in the areas of governance and leadership, resources and support systems and stakeholder communications and relationships. It also received the second highest mark in vision and purpose, teaching and learning, documenting and using results and commitment to continuous improvement.
