Ideas for recycling rolled out
Some people mourn the recent loss of recycling services in Lincoln Parish, and others are attempting to do something about it.
Due to loss of federal funding, Trailblazer Recycling, Conservation and Development removed all of its recycling bins throughout the parish. These blue containers located at hubs, businesses and schools were available to residents who wanted to drop off office paper, newspaper, telephone books and aluminum cans to be recycled.
A member of a local recycling group and Louisiana Tech Student Government Association members decided to take action this week. They appeared at the Lincoln Parish Police Jury meeting and spoke to the elected officials about their desire for a recycling center, where recyclables could be collected, packaged and shipped to the end user.
