Temple to present a Bluegrass Gospel Festival
Get ready for a fiddle picking, knee slapping, musical good time. Temple Baptist Church will host what Minister of Music Jodie Williams said he believes is the first-ever gospel bluegrass festival in Ruston.
On Saturday, Larry Stephenson Band, Don Rigsby and Midnight Call and Bluegrass Crossing are scheduled to perform two 50-minute sets each during the free concert.
Doors will open at the church at 12:30 p.m., and the festival is scheduled from 1-9 p.m. in the sanctuary. A jambalaya dinner, dessert and drink will be served from 4:30-6 p.m. for $6 a plate, and donations will be taken to help defray the cost of the event.
