Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held recently for Burkes Outlet, located at 309 N. Service Road in the Interstate 20 Shopping Center. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was sponsored by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.

The Ruston Community Theatre celebrated opening night of “Monday Always Leads to Murder” Thursday at the Dixie Center for the Arts. The comedic murder mystery will continue at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday, then at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Conner’s English classes would like to thank Michael Bishop’s grandfather for coming to speak to them. The English classes read a novel titled “Chinese Cinderella.” The book is about a young girl who grew up in China during the time of French concessions, World War II and the communist takeover.
