MONROE (AP) — The fourth time turned out to be the charm for Hope Anderson, a Monroe resident who has been crowned Miss Louisiana 2011.
Anderson, who was named Miss Spirit of Ruston in 2010, received the honor late Saturday night at the 48th annual Miss Louisiana pageant at the W.L. “Jack” Howard Theatre in Monroe. Wearing a red dress, she waved to the crowd as she was crowned by predecessor Kelsi Crain and received a white sash.
Third Judicial District Attorney John Belton echoed the message of Ruston Police Chief Steve Rogers and Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone during a press conference Wednesday regarding Operation Pit Stop.
“We have one of the safest communities in Louisiana and it will continue to stay that way,” Belton said.
The press conference came after several arrests were made as part of the second phase of Operation Pit Stop.
