Local residents who hear loud sirens this week should not assume there is an emergency.
That’s because the city of Ruston is scheduled to test its Outdoor Audible Emergency Warning System. Sirens designed to alert residents of weather-related issues and other emergencies have been installed at 13 different locations throughout the city.
