HAMMOND — Anna Cross hit a three-run home run and Bianca Duran and Pauline Tufi combined to pitch a shutout as Louisiana Tech defeated Southeastern Louisiana 7-0 at North Oak Park Wednesday evening.
Cross gave the Lady Techsters (15-25) an early lead with a two-out, three-run shot in the top of the second inning off of Lions starter Spencer Adkinson. The home run — Cross’ third of the year — came following a Courtney Lowe single and a Tori Charters walk with two outs. Cross then line Adkinson’s offering over the left centerfield fence, giving Tech the lead.
Label 2012 as the start of a new era in Ruston High School football.
The Bearcats have moved into what Head Coach Billy Laird affectionately (and appropriately) describes as “the Taj Mahal”, a 19,000-square foot field house that includes a state-of-the-art weight room, 16 television screens and a locker room that seemingly stretches to Cooktown Road.
FORT MYERS, Fla. — In a return to his home state, the Florida native Alex Hamilton has a nice homecoming by scoring a game-high 26 points as Louisiana Tech picked up a 66-63 road win over Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday night inside Alico Arena.
Also part of the five Floridians on the team was Jacobi Boykins who had perhaps the play of the game.
With Tech (10-2) leading by two with 35 seconds left, Merrill Holden missed two free throws but Boykins flew in for the offensive rebound and putback which helped the Bulldogs grab win No. 10 of the season.
