ORDINANCE NO. 115
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID THE MAYOR OF THE VILLAGE OF CHOUDRANT, LOUISIANA; TO PROVIDE FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF; AND OTHERWISE TO PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Aldermen of the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana, convened in Regular Session this 28th day of December, 2010, that the following Ordinance is hereby enacted:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the Village of Choudrant shall receive an annual salary of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO/100 ($15,000.00) DOLLARS for the performance of his duties and responsibilities. Additionally, the Mayor shall have the opportunity to participate in the Simple IRA Plan for the Village of Choudrant, which is currently being administered by American Funds, or any similar program which might be offered in the future.
SECTION 2. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause and/or phrase of this Ordinance or the application thereof is declared unconstitutional, unenforceable or invalid by the valid judgment of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality, unenforceability or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and/or phrases of this Ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana without the incorporation in this Ordinance of any such unconstitutional, unenforceable or invalid section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase. To this end, the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable.
SECTION 3. All other ordinances, or any parts thereof, which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on January 1, 2011. The above and foregoing Ordinance was introduced by Alderman Ragan Aswell at the regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana, held on December 6, 2010. A motion was then made to adopt said Ordinance by Alderman Ragan Aswell at the regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Choudrant, Louisiana, held on December 28, 2010, which motion was seconded by Alderman John O’Neal and thereafter adopted as a whole by the following YEA and NAY vote:
WHEREUPON, the Ordinance was declared duly adopted this 28th day of December, 2010.
