On Friday, guests from across the area will gather at The Norton Building, located at 207 W. Mississippi Ave., for The North Central Louisiana Arts Council’s Seventh Annual ARToberfest.
Jessica Slaughter, executive director for NCLAC, said the event celebrates a variety of styles of beer, from the finest commercial bottles to the region’s unique home brews.
“The home brew tastings are a highlight of the night, with good, healthy competition and the winning titles of Devine Home Brewer: People and Brewers Choice, sponsored by Devine Wines and Spirits,” she said.
Residents in Lincoln Parish now have the opportunity to feel a little bit safer in their homes.
The Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District No. 1 is participating in the Operation Save A Life program. This program has been provided by Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
Through Operation Save A Life, Lincoln Parish Fire District can provide the citizens of Lincoln Parish with smoke detectors, as well as the installation of them.
State and parish fire officials believe that smoke alarms are extremely vital in increasing residents’ chance of survival in a house fire.
SIMSBORO — Both sides of Martha Street were lined with cars of those who were attending the emergency Village Council meeting Monday that was called by Mayor Willie Hendricks and the aldermen of the Village of Simsboro.
The meeting lasted only a few minutes but the decision that was made was one it appeared that the village and those who lived just outside the city boundaries can all live with. The plan to explore the idea of annexation was discussed and voted on March 14.
