After almost 10 months of absence from local stores due to an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes — according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration —Blue Bell Ice Cream will be back on the shelves in Lincoln Parish just in time for Christmas, according to Jenny Van Dorf, public relations officer for Blue Bell Ice Cream.
“We will begin distribution in Ruston on Monday, Dec. 21 when we enter phase four,” she said. “Phase four includes Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi and it’s surrounding areas.”
The Princess Peach Pageant will begin today with an ice cream social and interview session. This Ruston tradition will culminate with the pageant at 10 a.m. Saturday at Choudrant High School. It is open to children ages 4 to 6 who are either residents of Lincoln Parish or are sponsored by a Lincoln Parish relative.
