If you are living with a mental illness (a consumer), do not despair. Millions of people are just like you. Numerous notable consumers have or continue to enrich our lives. You also have a contribution to make to society.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), mental illnesses are disorders of the brain that disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, moods and ability to relate to others.
With all the chaos going on with the shut down of the federal government, it is nice to see someone on state-level giving back.
On a personal level, I don’t follow politics, but with the recent developments that have occurred, I have perked up to listen to how the chips will fall. But, I was really impressed with First Lady Supriya Jindal, Governor Bobby Jindal’s wife, for interacting with children of Choudrant Elementary School the way she did.
While I’m immensely thankful that I was lucky enough to find the man I would marry at such a young age (we met when I was 21 and were married when I was 25), I certainly never expected that to be the case.
