Students in elementary schools across the parish are too young to remember what happened on Sept. 11, 2001. However, parents, educators and community members seem to have worked to make sure that even those who weren’t born never forget what happened.
Several students at local elementary schools were excited to share their knowledge and thoughts about 9/11.
On March 17, Keep Lincoln Parish Beautiful held an event as part of the nationwide movement, the Great American Cleanup.
The Great American Cleanup is lead by Keep American Beautiful. According to their website, “Keep America Beautiful follows a practical approach that unites citizens, businesses and government to find solutions that advance our core issues of preventing litter, reducing waste and beautifying communities.”
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced approximately 2,500 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by United States colleges and universities. Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among the finalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.
