The Lincoln Parish School Board is set to vote on a change order for the I.A. Lewis construction project that would install a sidewalk to the basketball courts and deduct money from liquidated damages for the contractor going over the contract time.
The board will review the change order at the regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Lincoln Parish school district’s Central Office.
James Payton, new construction coordinator, said the installation of the sidewalk will cost $1,534 and add one day to the contract time.
On Thursday, Gov. Bobby Jindal announced that Elio Motors plans to assemble new vehicles at the former General Motors Shreveport plant. Elio Motors Inc. plans to create 1,500 new direct jobs by late 2015 paying an average annual salary of $47,700, plus benefits, as well as make a capital investment in excess of $100 million.
Ruston resident and Haynesville native, Daphne Jean, is a singer-songwriter who has recently released her debut single “Monster.”
“It’s about someone getting hurt so much that they become bitter and feel like a monster inside and out,” Jean said. “They feel like the world sees them as a monster on the outside as well, but in reality they are just broken.”
Jean said she is trying to get the song on the television show The Vampire Diaries.
