TEXARKANA, Texas – James Swash continued his impressive performance at the 2022 Conference USA Golf Championships Tuesday shooting a sixunder-par 66 to lead the entire field through 36 holes at the Texarkana Country Club.

The senior lefty for Ruston High’s No. 10 Bearcats came through with a gem of a game in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs, defeating Mandeville 2-1 with a complete game. He gave up a run in the first inning and then nothing else in a four-hitter with 8 strikeouts. Williams also had a base hit and a walk against the Skippers.

China Grove Baptist Church reunion

Pastor Damian Wilson along with some of the members of China Grove Baptist Church held a Mondy Road Reunion on the church grounds last weekend. The church building was destroyed by fire Dec. 12, 2019, so members decided to have the reunion on the church grounds at 699 Mondy Road. About 100 people were in attendance. Right, Pastor Damian Wilson and Ivan Wilson enjoy the festivities, which included a bounce house for the children.
