Natalie Wise spoke to the Ruston Rotary Club last month reporting on a month-long trip to Ukraine serving as part of Samaritan’s Purse. Wise, a nurse practicer for Michael Brooks Family Clinic in Ruston, spoke about her experience serving the medical needs of the citizens of Ukraine. Samaritan’s Purse has provided medical personnel, emergency field hospitals, medical supplies, food and volunteers to staff the emergency needs for Ukrainian residents on a rotating basis. Dreamcatchers program slated at Union Museum on July 15

Amy Estep will present a program on Native American dreamcatchers on July 15 at 5 p.m. in the Union Museum of History and Art, located at 211 N. Main St., in Farmerville.

After a two-year inperson absence, the 40th Juneteenth Pageant was held on June 10 in the T.H. Harris Auditorium on the campus of Grambling State University. Three young ladies were crowned: Little Miss Juneteenth, Briley Kent; Miss Junior Juneteenth, Gabrielle Simmons; and Miss Juneteenth, Kesynce Brewster-Daniel.
