Students at the Lincoln Parish Early Childhood Center recently practiced evacuating their building in a drill conducted by the Lincoln Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness with the help of the Ruston Fire Department. Paraprofessional Valeria Mitchell and students Briyit Zunan and Nicolle Smith lead the line of youngsters down the school driveway.

QUITMAN — Homecoming Revisited, an unveiling and dedication of a sign in the memory of former governor and Jackson Parish resident Jimmie Davis, will be held Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Jimmie Davis Memorial Auditorium in Quitman. The site was formerly known as the Jimmie Davis Tabernacle, located at 3189 Beech Springs Road. This venue is the boyhood home of Davis.
