The death of former Ruston Mayor Hilda Taylor Perritt sent me back in time, to the group which predated DART. The Ruston Mayor’s Commission for Women was formed by Ruston Mayor Elton Pody, “to identify the diverse needs and accomplishments of women in this community and to provide opportunities and information to enable them to fully participate and contribute in all areas of life.”

Mystery Bottles lab chemistry demonstration

Student groups completed the Mystery Bottles lab following chemistry demonstrations and information on careers in chemistry. The SCILS Region 8 LASTEM Center is already working with Bill Deese and Kristie Ruddick on a proposal for the 2025 program which will continue the chemistry focus with middle school students across the region.
