There is a scene in one of my favorite sci-fi movies, “The Matrix,” in which the character Cypher betrays the resistance and meets with Agent Smith. In that scene, while eating a steak he knows isn’t real, Cypher says, “After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss.”
