A report from the International Monetary Fund in the summer of 2023 indicated that a new challenge awaits the world in the coming years. The global population increased by a billion people between 2010 and 2022. That remarkable increase saw the world surpass the 8 billion people mark in November of 2022.

I recently watched the fabulous documentary “STAX: Soulsville U.S.A.” In it, the incredible HBO production told the extraordinary story of the influential and groundbreaking Memphis studio. I loved revisiting the hey-day of such remarkable artists as Otis Redding, Booker T and the MG’s, Sam and Dave, The Staples Singers and the iconic music each made. However, one artist really got my attention. And not just because of their place within the STAX universe.

Now that two of my daughters are away at college and the one still at home basically views me as an ATM in an unfashionable neighborhood, I’ve tried to find myself a hobby.
