After months of preparation and planning, Ruston’s old VFW post facility is finally coming down. Built in 1933, the building located on Memorial Drive had fallen into dangerous disrepair and therefore became uninhabitable. Now undergoing asbestos removal, the 90-year-old building will soon be replaced with a new home for VFW Post 3615. Local veterans are engaged in a raffle for a custom-made cook trailer to help offset the final funding required for the new building. Tickets are on sale at the North Louisiana Military Museum or by contacting Tom Boniol at 318-914-9819.
