Boys & Girls Club hosts Triple Play in Ruston

Kids from Haynesville, Jonesboro, Ruston and Arcadia participated in Triple Play, put on by the Boys & Girls Club of North Louisiana, encouraging physical activities, movement and exercise. Triple Play was held at the Ruston Sports Complex on Thursday.

Holiday basketball camp to bring area children together

In the 1990s, a young Justin Holiday lived in Ruston. During that time, he attended the Boys & Girls Club of North Louisiana (BGC) along with this future wife, Shekinah Siegmund.

Vidos presented Arts Award

Elizabeth Vidos, also known as LadyChops, was presented the 2024 Performing Artist of the Year award by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council at a ceremony on June 20. Vidos was nominated for the award by North Central Louisiana Arts Council director Marcie Nelson. A regular at events in Ruston, Vidos will be performing Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln Parish Library.

Juneteenth at China Grove Church

On Wednesday in recognition of Juneteenth, Pastor Damian Wilson and the China Grove Church family served the community with soul food/spiritual food and clothing. There was over 100 people to come out for this event at the church. Pictured is Pastor Wilson and Lady Victoria Wilson.
