This weekend MedCamps of Louisiana held its Heroes with Hearts Retreat, a partnership with Louisiana Tech University’s Division of Nursing that pairs MedCamps campers with chronic illnesses or disabilities with Tech nursing students. Campers have a fun and safe weekend at camp while students get hands-on experience with pediatric care in a community setting. Held since 2019, this year 22 campers like Caroline Patton, left, joined 44 Tech students like Kaylee Ford, right.
