The SCILS Region 8 LASTEM Center at Louisiana Tech University wrapped up its 2024 programming by hosting a jam-packed day of CS4U (Computer Science for You) for I. A. Lewis School. The capacity crowd of sixth graders jumped into coding, cybersecurity, computer science and career success throughout the day. Groups coded fairytale scenes, successfully completed breakout box challenges, engineered a robotics exercise and cracked a series of ciphers while having a ton of fun. Programming resumes in January as SCILS kicks off competition season with its KidWind, SeaPerch and Drone challenges along with other STEM-related opportunities.
