Emotions were high Monday evening in the Ruston High School gymnasium as Ruston volleyball closed out the regular season for Senior Night — honoring five Bearcats — in a clean sweep of Loyola Prep (25-14, 25-14, 25-9).
Members of Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Ruston recently took their “Souls to the Polls” to encourage early voting and making early voting a family tradition. While early voting ended Tuesday, the deadline for the registrar of voters to receive a voter absentee ballot is Monday by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters). The polls will open again on Election Day (Tuesday) from 6-8 p.m.
FARMERVILLE — The former Louisiana State Trooper initially charged with negligent homicide in the 2019 death of Black motorist Ronald Greene will serve no jail time after accepting a plea deal amid protests from Greene’s family.

Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital held its senior trunk or treat event Friday, treating seniors to a drive-through trick or treat experience with health care-related vendors providing treats and information from their booths.
