Way back in December I was trying to come up with a fresh idea for our publication that can include local people. What I came up with was a fun idea to peek into the future 30 years and guess what life will be like in Ruston and Lincoln Parish in 2054.
In the northern-most part of Jackson Parish lies a tiny community known as Ansley, and in a bygone era that area was home to a hotel, a school and various other thriving businesses. Fast forward to 2024 and the hotel, school and the thriving businesses and a substantial number of the population no longer exist.
The Ogunyemi Family Foundation, Inc., established the Wisdom, Strength, and Endurance Scholarship to provide underrepresented minority students the opportunity to pursue higher education by alleviating and/or eliminating the financial barriers to the student’s success.

Police in Florida arrested a woman Wednesday for physical abuse and neglect of her mother who is 98. The daughter, her only caregiver, is accused of causing physical injury, as well as underfeeding and not cleaning her mother. She is also accused of giving her four times the amount of sedative prescribed.
