Rae Ambrose Hammons, age 80, of Choudrant, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, after a short illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at First Baptist Church Choudrant with Rev. Gil Arthur officiating.
Ruston’s Board of Aldermen has unanimously agreed to sell the historic downtown Federal Building to a Monroe development firm that plans to turn it into a restaurant.
Ruston will mark the 5th anniversary of the EF3 tornado that ripped its way across the city on April 25, 2019, with the dedication of a plaza at the base of one of the structures that survived the storm.
