Louisiana Tech’s Niilo Maki-Petaja continued his strong play in round three on Tuesday at TPC Sawgrass, shooting 70 (E) to finish in a tie for fourth among the 84-player field at the Sea Best Invitational.
The Ruston Bearcats took care of business in a unique non-district battle against former RHS star Scotty Thurman and his Parkview Patriots on Tuesday, taking the win 63-44 to improve to 15-8 overall.
VFW Post 3615 celebrated its local and district winner in the Voice of Democracy essay competition during the recent VFW Mid-Winter Conference held in Alexandria. Ruston High School junior Van Din (center) was recognized among the Top 10 students in the state within close to 400 entries and came home with an Honorable Mention award. Din receives her award with Auxiliary President Debbie Holmes (left) and Post Commander Tom Boniol following the culminating banquet. The Post now awaits the announcement of state-level winners in the other categories where local community members are contenders.
Third District Judge Monique Clement has denied a pair of pre-trial exceptions filed by the Grambling Economic Development Corporation claiming the city of Grambling had no right of action or cause of action to try to dissolve the GEDC.
