Students from Calhoun Middle School, Downsville Community Charter School, Lincoln Preparatory School and Simsboro School helped bring the goods for the final day of Middle Grades in the Mix. Hosted by the SCILS Region 8 LASTEM Center at Louisiana Tech University and facilitated by Bill Deese and Kristie Ruddick of Tech’s Chemistry Department, the experience provided middle grades students to participate in chemistry lab in Tech’s Integrated Engineering and Science Building along with engaging with the professors for exciting demonstrations, chemistry careers and a deep dive into the world of chemistry concepts. The SCILS team is now set to welcome students from I.A. Lewis for a day exploring applications in computer science with its CS4U (Computer Science for You) program.
