More than 1,000 people holding signs and chanting “No justice, no peace,” “Black lives matter,” “Say his name: George Floyd,” “Hands up, don’t shoot,” and “I can’t breathe,” marched over a mile from the Louisiana Tech University campus to Ruston’s City Hall on Thursday in hopes of kindling a new conversation about eradicating racism.

Focus on staying safe and striving for good health

The world as we know it has change drastically. You may still be working from home, wearing a mask when going out in public and social distancing from friends and family. We must take precautions for ourselves and others to stay safe. We have heard this many times - wash your hands, sneeze in your elbow, don’t touch your face, nose, or mouth. We must follow these steps to stay healthy.

Getting tired of dealing with the 'new normal'

I don’t know about you, but the next time I hear someone refer to the “new normal,” I think I might scream into my middle daughter’s unacceptable new bikini bottoms that I plan to confiscate and turn into a coronavirus face mask. If adjusting my daily activities according to COVID-19 protocol is now the norm, I’m ready to declare myself an official freakazoid, which is how most people (especially my family members) see me, anyway.
