Only bids submitted on Bid Forms will be accepted. Bid Forms and Specifications may be obtained from the office of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury, P.O. Box 979, Ruston, Louisiana 71273-0979. Bids can also be submitted electronically at WWW.CENTRALBIDDING.COM.
The Police Jury reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause.

Paving the way to a better downtown

Crews from D&J Construction smooth overlay on North Trenton Street on Wednesday as part of a multi-phase project to upgrade U.S. Highway 167 from Jefferson Corner on the northern end to Mill Street on the southern end. The project includes installing handicap-accessible sidewalk curbs. Primary work on the both Trenton Street and Vienna Street, both part of U.S. Highway 167, is expected to be complete before the Louisiana Peach Festival weekend, June 27-28, project engineer Jim Jackson said Wednesday.

UPSO arrests Ruston man

Suspect charged in high-speed chase, hitting house with car

Union Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Bryan D. Saulsberry, 31, of 509 Legacy Lane, Ruston, on Monday on warrants charging him with aggravated flight from an officer, criminal damage to property of more than $500 and two counts of resisting arrest.
The first two charges are felonies. Saulsberry’s bond was set at $7,750.
The warrants were issued for Saulsberry stemming from a May 4 incident when he allegedly failed to stop his vehicle after deputies gave chase when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Barron Road and Louisiana Highway 33.

Musicians to take the stage at Juneteenth festival

Two blues and soul musicians will be entertaining the crowd at the Juneteenth Festival in Grambling this Saturday.
The first will be M.P. Soul.
Born and raised in Ruston, Soul developed a love for music and joined the church choir at an early age. As he got older, he frequented local “card shacks,” where they gambled and played the blues all night. While other kids watched TV in their rooms, Soul listened to music all night long.
