Ruston couple jailed after sexual abuse investigation involving minors

A Ruston couple remained in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center Friday afternoon as a result of an investigation by Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives of sexual abuse claims involving minors.
Jason N. Jones, 44, is charged with four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and 78 counts of molestation of a juvenile.
His wife, Laura Beasley Jones, 44, is charged with 78 counts of accessory after the fact-molestation of a juvenile, four counts accessory after the fact-indecent behavior with a juvenile, and one count of failure to report the commission of certain felonies.
The investigation that the led to the arrests began Wednesday, LPSO said in press release issued Friday afternoon.
After gathering statements and conducting numerous interviews, an arrest warrant was obtained first for Jason Jones. He was taken into custody and questioned by detectives on Thursday and subsequently booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on $600,000 bond. As the investigation progressed, detectives discovered Jones’ wife had become aware of the abuse several months ago and failed to report the crimes to authorities, LPSO said.
An arrest warrant was obtained for her and served on Friday morning. She was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
