Suspect, victim identified in fatal shooting

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for 18-year-old Donovan Hart, of Ruston, in connection with a Tuesday afternoon shooting that left a local woman dead.

Authorities have identified the victim as 38-year-old LaTonia Moore, also of Ruston. Moore was killed inside her home on Greene Lane shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Detectives are requesting anyone with any information regarding Hart’s whereabouts to contact the LPSO at 251-5111 or CrimeStoppers.

Hart should be considered armed and dangerous, LPSO spokesman Sgt. Matt Henderson said Wednesday evening.

The Greene Lane shooting was one of two back-to-back shootings that occurred within a half mile of each other Tuesday.

The first one happened just before 1 p.m. at Peachland Mobile Home Park. One man was injured in that incident. The Greene Lane shooting happened about 20 minutes later.

Henderson said investigators began processing the scene and developed leads from interviewing witnesses that led them to name Hart as the suspect in the Greene Lane incident.

Investigators have not said whether Hart is also a suspect in the mobile home park shooting nor what the motive may have been in either shooting.

“We’re still investigating them as two separate incidents, but obviously they could very well turn out to be related,” Henderson said.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
