Dugdemona Farm & Feed ribbon cutting

The Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce helped the Willis family open their new business Dugdemona Farm & Feed, LLC with a ribbon cutting recently in Jonesboro. Patrick and Brandy Willis encourage readers to give them a call at 318-259-9004. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are located at 132 Lowery Road.

The Sounds of the Russ Town Band

Not even rain and plummeting temperatures could keep a crowd from filling the Ruston High School Auditorium for the Russ Town Band’s Christmas Concert Saturday. Dedicated to the late Charles Gaushell, one of the founding members of the group, the concert delighted the crowd with everything from holiday classics to Christmas swing. Director Lawrence Gibbs guided the band through more than an hour of seasonal sounds before Assistant Director Walter Moss took the stage to direct a surprise encore. Above left, to support the Russ Town partnership with Junior Auxiliary, Earlene Jackson hands a toy to Donna Hardel, JA Christmas Clearinghouse Co-Chair, as she heads inside for the concert.
