Eleanor Jones, a resident at the Russ Place Assisted Living Facility in Ruston, recently marked her 101st birthday with a party and all the festivities. Jones sat front and center in the seat of honor as family and friends stopped by to wish her a happy birthday. Left, Jones visits with Dale Oden, Minister of Pastoral Care at Temple Baptist Church. When asked what it was like to be on the planet for more than a century, Jones laughed and said it really didn’t seem much different now than when she was young and the country was mired in the Great Depression and World War II, but she was grateful God has blessed her with such a long, wonderful life.
