If you’ve been on Facebook for very long, you know it has a “memories” function that shows you posts you made in years past on a given day’s date. I’m not much of a fan of this function, mainly because I started my Facebook account when I was a teenager, and I’d rather not have to cringe at the reminders of the doofus things I used to post back then.

For the past week there’s been a lot of celebration in Ruston after the Bearcats won their ninth state championship in the football program’s storied history.

Sometimes the system works exactly like it’s supposed to. Take the recent case of a Ruston developer who wanted to build townhouses at the corner of Rhody Drive and East Kentucky Avenue.

You’ve got to hand it to the city of Ruston. When it thinks it’s right, it isn’t going to let anybody stand in its way of trying to prove it, not even judges.
