If you spend any amount of time surfing TV channels these days you know that our nation is as politicized as any era any of us have ever experienced.

Our political forum featuring all 11 candidates for five Lincoln Parish School Board seats went smoothly Tuesday night as would-be board members answered written questions submitted by the public during the initial mixand- mingle portion of the evening.

The applause, back slaps, and high fives that followed the Lincoln Parish Police Jury’s vote last week to select the Ruston Fire Department as the parish’s ambulance and rescue service provider for the next five years may have been well meaning, but don’t read the exhilaration as the end of the needlessly protracted journey.

We finally have an answer. Or at least, the first answer.
