Markel Jones (0) led the way with 17 points Monday night as Ruston High School defeated Gibsland-Coleman 79-32 at the RHS Boys Gym. Jackson Pilgreen added 12 points and six rebounds for the Bearcats, who climbed to 8-1 on the season. Amber Dixson (pictured) and the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters will open the 2020-21 Conference USA basketball season this weekend with a pair of games at Marshall in Huntginton, W.V. The teams will play at 5 p.m. Friday and at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Lady Techsters stand at 5-2 on the season while the Thundering Herd comes into the series at 1-1. Dixon is averging 8.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for Louisiana Tech.
