Pallbearers carry the remains of longtime former Lincoln Parish Sheriff Wayne Houck to a waiting hearse following Friday’s memorial service. Houck was remembered as a man to whom personal relationships mattered and who brought the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office into the modern era. Houck served 24 years as sheriff, the longest tenure of any sheriff in the parish history. He retired in 2004, after a 41-year career in law enforcement. Houck died March 30 at the age of 83.
